The chalk test square
A proper inspection isn’t a guy on a ladder saying “yep”. We chalk a ten-by-ten test square on each slope, circle every hit, measure it and photograph it. You get the photo report, whether you file a claim or not.
Please don’t climb a wet roof. That part is our job.

Wait until it’s over and safe. From the ground, photograph dented gutters, the AC unit and anything broken, and note the date and time. If water is coming in, cover what you can or call our storm line for a tarp.
Watch out: Door-knockers who want a signature that same day. A real inspection doesn’t need one.

We walk every slope, chalk test squares, circle and measure every hit, and check gutters, vents, flashing and siding. You get a photo report. If the damage isn’t worth a claim, we tell you that too.
Watch out: A claim for damage that isn’t really there can still go on your insurance history. See the photos before you file.

Usually takes A 15-minute call
Call your insurer or use their app. Give them the storm date and say you have photos. You get a claim number: forward it to us and we keep the paperwork in one place.
Watch out: In Texas a roofer can’t negotiate your claim or act as your adjuster. We document; you and your insurer decide.
Stop 4 of 7
Usually takes Often 1–3 weeks after filing
Your insurer’s adjuster inspects the roof. If you’d like, we meet them there and walk them to every hit we documented, so nothing gets missed.
Watch out: Ask for the adjuster’s report in writing. If it misses damage, you can ask for a re-inspection.

Usually takes Usually a few weeks after the visit
Your insurer sends the scope (the line-by-line list of what they’ll pay for) and a first check. On most replacement-cost policies that check is the roof’s current value minus your deductible. The held-back part, called recoverable depreciation, comes once the work is done.
Watch out: Texas law doesn’t let a roofer pay, waive or rebate your deductible. If someone offers, walk away.
Stop 6 of 7
Usually takes 1–2 days on the roof
We cover the shrubs and the pool, tear off to the deck, replace any soft decking, then dry-in, flash and shingle. A magnet sweep for nails, then photos of the finished roof.
Watch out: Move cars out of the driveway and keep pets inside: it’s loud. Neighbors appreciate a heads-up.

We send the final invoice and photos to your insurer, and they release the held-back depreciation. You pay your deductible, and we register the manufacturer’s warranty in your name.
Watch out: Keep the final photos, invoice and warranty together. Buyers ask for them when you sell.
